Google Forms is a free tool from Google that allows you to do the following:

·         Create forms, surveys, and quizzes.

·         Share the forms with others.

·         Allow others to complete the forms online.

·         Collect all the responses in a spreadsheet.

·         Provide you with helpful summaries of the collected data   with charts and graphs.

Activities

   1.      A technique that EFL an teacher may apply using this app is to create quizzes as practice. Students can review the topics and practice before the real evaluation. This app might also help students to get prepared for the MEP exam which consist on reading comprehension. This app is a perfect tool to help teachers and students in the preparation for such exam. 

    2.    The teacher creates a questionnaire using Google Forms in which he/she includes a video and a set of Wh-questions about the video. This activity may be developed as homework. Finally, the teacher make comments about the video and the questionnaire in the next class.   

  

    3.   The teacher presents to students an image using Google Forms. The teacher creates a paragraph type question. Students must create a paragraph about what they see on the picture. This activity is developed in a laboratory. The teachers helps them if necessary. 

Tips for EFL teachers when using Google Forms

ü  To add enough images, videos, audios, etc.

ü  To provide enough context and formulate well-structured questions

ü  To be sure that every question has ONLY one correct answer. (for multiple choice)

This app is an amazing tool that all EFL teachers should implement in their lesson. It provides students enough context and authentic material. It allows learners to review the topics in a completely different way. They will be entertained and at the same time they will be reinforcing their knowledge.
